Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and writer. Her mom raised her in the USA in a place where she endured many racial taunts that left her feeling like a non-person. In the 9th grade, she felt more secure after being praised by her teachers when she sang at the school's audition. The singer not only gained confidence because of the experience, but she also changed plans for her career. In 1992 she graduated with her degree from New York's Julliard School. She began her career at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. The part in The Lady of The Lake became her greatest breakthrough, bringing an award for her performance, the Tony Award in addition to critical acclaim for her performance. The recognition grew even more when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. As a well-known singer, she has also recorded songs and plays. As an activist, she strives in the cause of LGBT equality.
